How renting works
1Find a home on the siteFilters, map, and a saved list that works without an account. Rent, deposit, charges and bills are shown up front.
2Check the detailsHome details and costs line by line: rent, charges, deposit, the lease types and how the owner was verified.
3Click Book a viewingPick the lease you want, answer the owner's few questions and book a viewing.
4Open the app and find the listingScan the QR or enter the listing code, for example MIL-4821. The same home opens with your saved list.
5Choose a viewing slotViewing windows come from the owner. Reminders by push, SMS or WhatsApp.
6Meet the ownerIn person or on a video call. You deal with the owner directly, from the viewing to the keys.
7Sign with the ownerThe lease is between you and the owner, with the numbers from the listing. You pay the deposit and the first rent after signing, by transfer or in cash against a receipt, never before the viewing.
8Move inKeys from the owner. Our support chat stays open if something goes wrong.
Your data and your money
No prepayment, no cardNothing is paid on the website and no card is ever asked for.
Documents after the viewingYou give copies to the owner only after the viewing, and only the documents the law allows. glashaus never asks for them.
Address after bookingThe exact address is shared once a viewing is booked; before that you see a 300 m circle.
Pay only after signingPay the owner after signing, by transfer or in cash against a receipt. glashaus never asks you for money.
Private owners only. Before a listing goes live we check the owner’s ID and proof of ownership, so the person you talk to really owns the home. There are no agencies on glashaus.
